Since its establishment in February 2011, the VINCI Autoroutes Foundation has operated as a laboratory, observatory, and information hub dedicated to shaping and improving road behaviors. Initially focusing on strengthening personal and collective responsibility in driving, the foundation gradually expanded its activities, including education, environmental awareness, and the promotion of messages through reading. These initiatives encourage all of us to drive responsibly and with respect.

This large-scale annual survey, conducted by Ipsos with a sample of 12,413 people across 11 European countries, examines the behavior and perception of Europeans behind the wheel. It enables the monitoring of dangerous driving trends and the adoption of best practices, helping to better shape prevention messages.

The VINCI Autoroutes Foundation publishes the results of the 3rd edition of the survey on “Road sharing in Europe”. This Ipsos-conducted survey examines the behavior of Europeans dealing with the coexistence of different modes of transport.

The results show an over-representation of risky behaviors related to cell phone use (23% watch movies or videos while driving), alcohol or drug use, and drowsy driving among young people under 35, especially males.

For many years, the VINCI Autoroutes Foundation has been studying the influence of children on their parents' driving and their own driving behavior. Together with VINCI Concessions Greece, and in close collaboration with the Panos Mylonas Road Safety Institute and the Hellenic Association of Toll Road Network HELLASTRON, the Foundation is publishing the results of a groundbreaking survey on Greek parents as drivers.

Although the European Commission has set a target of halving the number of road deaths between 2010 and 2020, road deaths in Europe have fallen by only 19% in the last six years. In 2017, more than one in two Europeans (51%) think it will be difficult to significantly reduce the number of road deaths. In Spain (-9 points) and Poland (-8 points), hopes of reducing the number of road deaths in the coming years have fallen. In contrast, confidence in Greece increased in 2017 (+8 points), but remains at a fairly low level (41%).

The VINCI Autoroutes Foundation for Responsible Driving recently published the results of a major survey conducted by Ipsos on driving behavior and attitudes in 10 European Union countries. Launched 5 years ago, the Responsible Driving Barometer focuses on drowsiness and inattention at the wheel as the main causes of many road accidents.
