Water from the Air
Olympia Odos upgrades travel experience with a positive environmental impact.
At 11 parking areas along Olympia Odos we have developed the “Water from air” program offering to travelers free of charge fresh, clean drinking water produced by the air humidity with the help of the sun.
The system is equipped with a solar powered drinking water cooler to cool water during the hot summer months.
The only requirement is to bring your water bottle, since the machine does not dispense any plastic bottles or single-use cups, in order to minimize wastes.
Specifically, the 10-12 liters of fresh water produced daily by each system correspond in total to:
- 330 plastic bottles less per day;
- 121,000 bottles less in a year.
For the convinience of travellers the buildings in the parking areas equiped with "Water from the Air" are marked with a distinctive blue drip.
