Olympia Odos participates in the VINCI Concessions Safety Week

• A week of mobilization in all VINCI projects to achieve the "Zero Accident" objective

• This year, Olympia Odos is organizing safety at work workshops with the participation of subcontractors, and first aid training courses at its offices and construction sites

Olympia Odos participated in the VINCI Concessions Safety Week, the annual international mobilization event to promote the VINCI Group's "Zero Accident" objective. Safety Week was held from 22 to 26 May at all concession projects in which VINCI is involved worldwide, with a common theme: Promoting the culture of safety among partners and subcontractors.

Committed to ensuring the safety of its staff, partners and customers, Olympia Odos has placed safety at the top of its suppliers’ selection criteria, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (ELINYAE), is developing innovative practices such as the Como App software and the installation of proximity sensors on worksite vehicles and employees and visitors on the same sites. At the same time, the company implements campaigns to foster a culture of prevention at work, such as the one implemented last October at the worksites of Patras-Pyrgos section, with the slogan "Destination: Occupational Safety".

Olympia Odos is participating in the ambitious action plan developed by VINCI Concessions in all its airports, motorways and rail projects, in 25 countries. For example, all concessions of the network have health and safety reporting tools for their employees and subcontractors, a platform for sharing experiences and numerous training courses and e-learning sessions.

This specific mobilization has enabled VINCI Concessions to reduce the accident frequency rate by four since 2016 across its network, with a frequency rate of 5.84 in 2023.

For this year's Safety Week, Olympia Odos organized a Safety at Work Workshop with the participation of subcontractors and partners, which took place in the field (under the Olympia Odos access road to the Rion-Antirion Bridge) and, in addition to the theoretical part, included a demonstration of safe work on scaffolding, during lifting operations and works at height. At the same time, First Aid training sessions were organized at the worksites of Patras-Pyrgos section and the offices of the Concession Company, as well as an educational webinar for the employees in the Operation of the motorway about "Creating a safe work environment through good communication-relationship with people".
