Distance-based tolling is now in effect also at the Gastouni Interchange on the Patras-Pyrgos Motorway.

  • Operational as of Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the Gastouni Interchange
  • Up to 76% lower toll charges for passenger cars on the Gastouni-Amaliada section and up to 55% on Gastouni-Pyrgos section
  • Get the OLYMPIA PASS at no cost and enjoy access to discount programs.

The distance-based tolling system implemented by Olympia Odos on the motorway since 2021 will go into effect on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the Gastouni Interchange, completing the rollout of the system at the existing interchanges along the Patras-Pyrgos section. The system has been gradually implemented since March 2026 at the Kato Achaia, Amaliada, and Varda interchanges. At the Gastouni interchange, the toll rates under the distance-based tolling system are as follows:

The distance-based tolling is applicable along the entire length of the motorway and applies to vehicles of all categories equipped with an OLYMPIA PASS transponder. This system automatically gives drivers a refund for the part of the route they do not travel. Depending on the route, the refund can reach up to 77% of the initial toll rate.

An additional discount is available for passenger cars through the VALUE discount scheme.

Drivers of passenger cars (Category 2) who use the OLYMPIA PASS transponder benefit from both the distance-based tolling and the VALUE discount scheme.

The VALUE discount scheme offers progressive discounts ranging from 15% to 60%, depending on the frequency of passages through each toll station during the same month.

Therefore, for passenger car drivers, the distance-based tolling system combined with the discount scheme, can potentially provide total savings of:

  • Up to 64% on Gastouni - Amaliada section;
  • Up to 55% on Gastouni - Pyrgos section.

For example, an employee who makes 42 passages in a month on the Gastouni-Amaliada route, using the   OLYMPIA PASS transponder, would incur a cost of €28.20 instead of €78.

For example, an employee who makes 42 passages in a month on the Gastouni-Pyrgos route, using the   OLYMPIA PASS transponder, would incur a cost of €56.40 instead of €126.

How does distance-based tolling work?

To activate the service, the driver must have an OLYMPIA PASS transponder. The transponder automatically records the vehicle's entry and exit points to and from the motorway. The refund amount is automatically calculated and credited to the subscriber's account based on the route traveled.

The transponder is complimentary and can be obtained online at www.olympiaodos.gr or at the Customer Service Centers. The Olympia Odos mobile App provides drivers with the ability to efficiently manage their accounts, track their passages, and monitor their transponders in real time.
