Safe trips for a Happy Easter!

The Easter season is a time of travel, both to new destinations and to our hometowns. Consequently, traffic on Olympia Odos Motorway is expected to increase over the next two weeks. In particular, the traffic is expected to increase as follows:

In the way out of the city:

• On Holy Thursday, from 14:00 p.m. to 21:00 p.m., approximately, and
• On Holy Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m.

In the way into the city:

• On Easter Monday, from 13:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m., and
• On Easter Tuesday, from 14:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m.

Avoid peak hours when planning your trip to gain time.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and a comfortable journey for travelers, Olympia Odos has mobilized the necessary equipment and personnel at its five operational bases stretching from Athens to Pyrgos. 

Here are some useful tips for a safe and comfortable trip:

1. Check your vehicle before you leave (fuel, oil, coolant, lights, brakes, turn signals and air pressure in the tires);
2. Get plenty of rest before your trip; When traveling long routes, stop for 15 minutes every 2 hours;
3. Top up your OLYMPIA PASS transponder in advance and enjoy the convenience of faster passage through toll stations, combined by the distance-based tolling along the entire motorway.
4. Get informed about the traffic and weather conditions by the Traffic Prediction Service and the widget of Olympia Odos at www.olympiaodos.gr and the Olympia Odos App.
5. Check the Variable Message Signs of the motorway for any useful information.
6. Enjoy meals and fuel services at one of our 11 Motorist Service Stations (MSS).
7. In case of an emergency, please call 1025 via the Olympia Odos app on your mobile phone, or contact the Traffic Management Centers via the SOS Emergency Roadside Telephones. Our staff will be with you in approximately 14 minutes.
8. Drive carefully in areas with construction sites or traffic arrangements.
