Activities along Olympia Odos during the Health & Safety Week

• A week of mobilization in VINCI projects to achieve the "Zero Accident" objective
• Daily conference, training and photo competition

Olympia Odos participated for another year in the Health and Safety Week of VINCI Group and organized information and awareness activities for its employees and associates to promote its key objective of “Zero Accidents”.

This year, the message conveyed during the Health & Safety Week of VINCI Concessions, major shareholder of Olympia Odos, was “STOP & SPOT”, meaning identify and stop risks at work.

This year's activities focused on 2 pillars.
• Climate Change: a phenomenon that is of increasing concern to us, as it is constantly intensifying, affecting the working conditions in the field.
• Rapid development in technology and science. We examined new tools and technologies to implement new and safer practices but also to monitor the measures we are already adopting.

In particular, we organized training sessions at the offices relevant to fire and earthquake protection, the building evacuation principles, as well as a Health & Safety Daily Conference with the participation of employees, subcontractors and partners of the company. At the same time, we organized a photo competition on best safety practices onsite.

Mr. Panayiotis Papanikolas, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Olympia Odos, made the following statement: “The Health and Safety Week of VINCI is an excellent opportunity to review our level with regard to these issues and set new goals. We are called upon to shape a working framework by intervening and changing procedures where needed. We use the tools of the new era and adopt new practices, respecting the environment.”

Companies and various bodies participated in the Daily Conference and presented innovative practices, such as OPTIMAL, which demonstrated through Neuroscience how an employee perceives the environment and the risks and how we can communicate safety rules more effectively. The companies MANAGEMENT FORCE GROUP, HYPERTECH SA and STOP highlighted new tools to improve the working conditions and increase the health and safety levels.

The Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (ELINYAE) was with us once again and stressed the importance of occupational health and safety in the light of the new conditions. In particular, Mr. Minas Analytis, on behalf of ELINYAE, underlined among others that: “Prevention is a continuous process of a multidisciplinary approach and in this sense requires perseverance and patience from its participants, with the ultimate goal of reducing occupational risk and improving working conditions so that everyone feels they are working in a safe environment.”
