Firefighting Large-Scale Exercise in the tunnels of Derveni

A Firefighting Large-Scale Exercise will be conducted in the the tunnels of Derveni (in the direction to Athens) located between Derveni interchange (K.P. 140,4) and Lykoporias interchange (K.P. 132,0) during the night of Wednesday, April 21 to Thursday, April 23, 2026.

To ensure the safety of the participants in the Exercise and of the passing drivers, from 07:00 on Wednesday 21.04.2026 to 06:00 a.m. at the latest on Thursday 23.04.2026 a local full closure of the left branch of the highway (in the direction towards Athens) will take place, with both directions between K.P. 136,7 and K.P. 138.9 will be diverted out of the tunnels and will be served with a two-way traffic on the right branch of the highway (direction towards Patras), as is showed on the following diagram:

The scheduled Large-Scale Exercise will be conducted in cooperation with the Fire Brigade and the participation of all stakeholders, the Ministry for Infrastructure & Transport, the Hellenic Police and the EKAV Ambulances.
