Olympia Odos is implementing an increased operational readiness plan in anticipation of the imminent severe weather conditions

Olympia Odos, operator of the Elefsina-Korinthos-Patras-Pyrgos Motorway, advises the drivers that in light of the severe weather conditions forecast by the relevant meteorological service, which is anticipated to be accompanied by strong winds and heightened risk of flood events, an enhanced operational readiness plan is being implemented.

Within the framework of its competence, Olympia Odos:

• Maintains continuous oversight of weather conditions and the status of the road network;
• Its five (5) operational bases located on the motorway (Megara, Kiato, Akrata, Rio, Pyrgos) are on full alert;
• Maintains a reserve of personnel and equipment, ready for immediate deployment as needed;
• Monitors critical points, such as areas with an increased risk of water accumulation, ensuring the functionality of drainage systems and the restoration of traffic in the event of local problems.

The Company maintains ongoing coordination with the relevant State services, since:

• The Traffic Police are responsible for regulating traffic, enforcing any restrictions, and taking measures for the safety of road users;
• Civil Protection is responsible for the overall coordination of emergency management and the issuance of instructions to the citizens.

In addition to the above preparations, Olympia Odos requests that drivers:

• exercise caution due to the possibility of strong gusts of wind and reduced visibility;
• Avoid passing through areas where water has accumulated;
• Follow the instructions of the traffic police and signage;
• Limit their travel to what is absolutely necessary if the weather conditions intensify.
