The new Lykoporia Interchange is opened to traffic

As of today, Friday, June 19, 2020, the Lykoporia Interchange of Olympia Odos, at k.p. 113.6 is opened to traffic.  This new Interchange will serve many villages and hamlets in the greater area of the Municipality of Xylokastro - Evrostini and more than 8,000 inhabitants.

To put the Interchange in operation additional works were required for arranging the proper connection of the Motorway with the Old National Road of Korinthos - Patras, as well as the construction of an additional roundabout.  Within this context it was necessary to demolish the old bridge, dated back in the 60s, which was replaced by a new Bridge over Skoupeiko Stream. 

Thanks to the opening to traffic of the New Lykoporia Interchange, the access to many coastal and mountainous destinations in the area is made easier and quicker, since the circumvention of the Old National Road through the neighboring interchanges of Xylokastro and Derveni is not necessary anymore, while at the same time road safety is enhanced since the distance traveled outside the motorway is reduced. 

Olympia Odos continues using all its efforts to operate and maintain a high-level motorway that meets the needs of the users, thus providing quality service with an overall view to safety, speed and comfort of the drivers and travelers.
