Traffic arrangements due to heavy maintenance works In Mavra Litharia Tunnels

As part of the heavy maintenance campaign on the Motorway, the old analog cameras in the T11 Twin Tunnel (Mavra Litharia) will be replaced with new digital ones from Wednesday, January 14, 2026 to and including Tuesday, February 17, 2026. In order to carry out the above-mentioned works, it will be necessary to close the tunnels alternatively, while the necessary traffic arrangements will be gradually implemented in the following phases:

Phase A: closure of the branch to Athens

Closure of the branch to Athens and diversion of the traffic to the branch to Patras through the Emergency Openings located from k.p. 143.30 to k.p. 141.30. Closure of the branch to Patras and diversion of the traffic to the tunnel service road, in accordance with the following diagram.

It is estimated that 15 calendar days will be required to implement each of Phases A and B. It should also be noted that as Phase A’ of works is completed, the Phase B’ will begin immediately.

Phase B: closure of the branch to Patras

Closure of the branch to Patras and diversion of the traffic to the tunnel service road, in accordance with the following diagram. The traffic in the direction to Athens is not affected.

It is estimated that 15 calendar days will be required to implement each of Phases A and B. It should also be noted that as Phase A’ of works is completed, the Phase B’ will begin immediately.
