Large-Scale Exercise in the In the area of Kakia Skala Tunnels

A Large-Scale Exercise will be conducted in the tunnels of Kakia Skala and in particular in “Aithra” Tunnel during the night of Tuesday, November 15, 2022 to Wednesday, November 16, 2022. To ensure the safety of the participants in the Exercise and of the passing drivers, traffic arrangements will be implemented in two phases. More specifically:

• On Tuesday, November 15 2022, from 19:00 to 23:00, the two right lanes in the direction to Korinthos as well as the two left lanes in the direction to Athens will be gradually closed. During this period of time, traffic will use only one traffic lane per direction.
• On Tuesday, November 15 2022, from 23:00 to 06:00, on the next day, the tube to Korinthos will be fully closed, while the tube to Athens will serve as a two-way tube. During this period of time, the traffic to Korinthos will use only one traffic lane (the left one) of the opposite traffic direction, while the traffic to Athens will be limited to the right lane, while the middle lane will remain closed to serve as a buffer zone between the two opposite traffic directions, as shown on the diagram. 

The scheduled Large-Scale Exercise will be conducted in cooperation with the Fire Brigade and the participation of all stakeholders, the Ministry for Infrastructure & Transport, the Hellenic Police and the EKAV Ambulances.
