Secure Parking Space for Trucks (SSTPA) in Akrata

Olympia Odos participates in the European Action "Development of 9 Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas in Greece". With this Action, Olympia Odos will contribute to the improvement of the safety of truck parking areas and the security of the national road network. Initially, the parking station, with a capacity of 45 truck parking spaces in Akrata, will be upgraded with cameras and security systems. Sanitary facilities (WC and showers), an area to rest with internet access and a control centre will also be built. The project has a total budget of €2.5 million.

Hybrid: kilometer-based tolling

Olympia Odos revolutionised domestic transportation by introducing the concept of mileage billing through the innovative Hybrid toll system for the first time in Greece. Hybrid ensures socially fair charging, as users pay only for the distance they have travelled. The Hybrid system is an essential step in the direction of sustainable urban mobility, rendering Olympia Odos a key player in the efforts to improve citizens' daily life substantially.
The state-of-the-art technological system calculates the actual distance travelled by the vehicle, making the charges proportional and ensuring up to 76% lower charges and "free flow" on the highway, namely, travelling without delays.
