Hybrid distance-based tolling system

The first hybrid distance-based tolling system in Greece uses sensors, cameras, and intercom systems at motorway entry and exit interchanges to calculate the distance traveled and automatically refund the difference in tolls to drivers. This feature is available through the OLYMPIA PASS transponder; the total investment for this innovative project amounts to €9.5 million.

The awarded “Water from the air” program

At Olympia Odos, our strategy is driven by a commitment to sustainable development. As part of our initiative, we are implementing the innovative “Water from the Air” program in eleven parking and rest areas. This process is both sustainable and reliable, producing fresh drinking water through the capture of moisture in the air using solar energy. The infrastructure includes a telemetry system for real-time monitoring of functionality (water production, battery charging, water cooler operation, etc.). The “Water from the air” program enhances the travel experience by offering travelers greater autonomy, comfort, and a reduced environmental footprint. This initiative is being gradually expanded to all motorway parking areas. The total investment for the installation and maintenance of this system for five (5) years amounts to €145,000.
