Energy Pioneering at Motorist Service Stations

Motorist Service Stations (MSS) of Psathopyrgos are the first in Greece to offer all types of commercially available fuel – petrol, diesel, LPG and electric vehicle charging (EV charge). Olympia Odos was the first highway in the country to install fast chargers for electric cars in Motorist Service Stations (MSS Psathopyrgos), which are also the first charging stations for electric cars in Western Greece. Fast chargers have also been installed in the MSS Velos, 100% electrified by "clean" energy - energy that is produced entirely from renewable sources -  with a certificate of Guarantee of Origin, contributing thus to green and sustainable transport.

"Water from the air"

"Water from the air" is a pilot initiative developed in the parking area of Panorama-Kinetas, with the primary goal of upgrading the travel experience through the provision of clean, fresh drinking water produced from the humidity of the air with the aid of the sun. This innovation is a long-needed solution for the provision of clean water to motorway users and also has significant environmental and economic benefits. The system is fully autonomous, has zero greenhouse gas emissions, does not offer single-use plastic bottles or cups, and is provided free of charge. The device can produce approximately 10-12 litres of fresh, potable water per day.
