Pit Stop: a Stop for Safety, by Olympia Odos and RSI Panos Mylonas

This year's Road Safety Pit Stop, which took place on Friday 14 June, closed with a record number of participants. Olympia Odos and the Road Safety Institute (RSI) "Panos Mylonas" welcomed dozens of drivers at the Motorists Service Station (MSS) of Megara, in the direction to Patras, reminding them of the importance of responsible driving behavior. AVIN, FLOCAFE, TOTAL Energies and BeSafe also joined forces for road safety, supporting and reinforcing this action.

In the context of the Pit Stop, an action that is part of the Olympia Road's road safety campaign "In real life there is no Undo", drivers had the opportunity to have their vehicle checked for free with the help of RSI partners, and receive a "Friendly Control Card" with the results and any observations. They could also try the Institute's crash simulator, receive information on the proper and safe use of child seats and participate in the draw for a number of gifts.

Mr. Panagiotis Papanikolas, President & CEO of Olympia Odos, during the Pit Stop spoke about the three components of Road Safety, i.e. Road-Vehicle-Driver, focusing on the Driver. As he said "According to the VINCI Foundation's Eurobarometer on Responsible Driving, as drivers we are self-centered, have a sense of omnipotence and drive aggressively. It is time to change the habits that hurt us. Traffic violence and aggressiveness is violence in our lives. Let's resist our bad selves!"
